Workshop on the ICRP Recommendations and the Protection of Non-Human Species from the Harmful Effects
of Ionizing Radiation

The NNR (National Nuclear Regulator) of South Africa in conjunction with SARPA (Southern African Radiological Protection Association) hosted a three day workshop on the recent ICRP recommendations, publications 103 and 104, and enhancing the regulatory framework for the protection of non-human species (biodata) from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. Insights and data obtained from this workshop will be used to guide South Africa’s regulatory framework relating to the protection of non-human species from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.

Participants for this workshop included local and international sector stakeholders as well leading experts from the ICRP (International Commission for Radiological Protection).
